The Lonely Comet Art Studio is run by Mr. Toby Jay, an illustrator and concept artist based in Denver, Colorado.

Drawn towards creation from the moment he could pick up a crayon, Jay has been brewing up stories and characters to share with those around him his whole life, treasuring storytelling as something deeply innate to the human experience. He took this inspiration and went on to study the art of visual storytelling, majoring in illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. There he was a founding board member of the Concept Art Club, Best in Show winner of the 2022 Illustration Department’s Red Shoe Awards, and graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in December of 2022.

Jay has gone on to work primarily in the TTRPG/Fantasy Art sphere, working with Dark Horse Comics, Critical Role, Insight Editions, and a robust base of clients built from 10+ years of private commission work. He happily is looking for and accepting professional inquiries for publishing, conceptual, and illustration work.
